Lens Implant Choices are Available to Meet Your Individual Needs

Standard replacement lenses attempt to provide improved "distance" vision.  "Readers" or bifocals must be worn to see up close. Some choose to correct their vision for "up-close" and use glasses for distance vision.  Standard lenses are included in the standard fee for cataract surgery.

Toric replacement lenses attempt to correct for astigmatism (an irregular curve on the eye's cornea). Patients with astigmatism may benefit from this lens option.  Toric lenses can be chosen for distance vision only or in combination with lens technology that attempts to allow distance, up-close and in-between vision without eyeglasses. These lenses are not covered by insurance, so an additional fee will be payable.

Multifocal replacement lenses attempt to correct vision at distance, up close, and in-between without eyeglasses, although that is not guaranteed. This approach targets "good" vision at all distances but may not offer the very best vision at each of those distances. These lenses are not covered by insurance, so an additional fee will be payable.
